Oracle Database 11g RMAN Backup and Recovery book

I’ve experienced my first book contribution work and prepared the “Configuring HP Data Protector for Oracle” chapter to “Oracle RMAN 11g Backup and Recovery” (Osborne Oracle Press Series), written by Robert Freeman and Matthew Hart. I saw Robert’s post on FreeLists Oracle-L about contribution and offered to add HP Data Protector - RMAN configuration chapter to the book. I’m glad my offer was accepted and i had this chance. It was a nice experience to live through the publication phases of a book. This is a process that i can recommend everyone who read this post to attempt.

I had my early copy and i can say that the book is very well prepared to help DBA’s on all kind of RMAN backup and recovery operations. It also includes Oracle 11g Release 2 features. Here are the chapter headlines:
